Winter and whisky make the perfect pairing, and although our Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky is delicious on its own as a digestif, it's also a brilliant base for warming winter serves such as a Hot Toddy. If you don't usually make whisky-based cocktails for the festive season, then this Christmas is the time to get mixing!
This year, our Head of Mixology, Oliver Morris, has given the Whisky Sour a Christmassy twist and created a cocktail which we've called The Greatest Gift. Adding cranberry juice and our Whisky Amaro Liqueur No.1 to this classic cocktail not only gives it a traditional festive colour but also adds a beautiful berry sweetness and a herbal complexity. Perfect for pre-dinner drinks, this is sure to be a real showstopper this Christmas!
The Greatest Gift
INGREDIENTS:
45ml Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky
25ml Cotswolds Whisky Amaro Liqueur No.1
45ml cranberry juice
15ml lemon juice
15ml egg white or aquafaba
Bar spoon of honey
HOW TO CREATE:
Dissolve the honey in the whisky. Place all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and dry shake (without ice). Add ice, shake again and strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with dehydrated orange. Cheers!
