Bitter Limoncello is our Cotswolds take on the classic Italian liqueur. It all started when one of our distillers mistakenly used too much of the white pith when macerating lemon peel.
We rather liked the slight bitterness this created, as we’d had too many sickly-sweet limoncellos over the years. This one is made entirely by hand here at the distillery with fresh lemons, 100% wheat spirit and cane sugar.
Lighter and drier than any you’ve tried before, it’s delicious either on the rocks or straight from the freezer. Enjoy!

It's back and bitter than ever.
The finest ingredients
Freshly peeled Italian lemon zest and sweet Valencian orange peel, pure wheat spirit and a touch of sugar to sweeten.
Fresh and zesty, the fragrant lemon notes are backed up by some subtle sweet orange.
This is a much drier and more balanced limoncello with a hint of bitterness and a long finish.
We peel the lemons and oranges by hand, including a bit more of the white pith than we usually do – the bitter pith balances the sweetness of the limoncello perfectly. We soak the peels in pure wheat spirit for a month to extract as much flavour as possible and then add some filtered water and a touch of sugar to sweeten.
